Okay. So I’m not extremely on top of this blogging news thing, thought I should catch up.
Since “Dragging Myself Back Out” I’ve been regularly performing improv in Nashville. And that’s about all I’ve been able to regularly perform. As the main caregiver to my daughter, it’s been tough to really concentrate on going after longer-term commitments. I did manage to take the Advanced Scene Study class over at Actor’s Bridge and I’ve attending several improv workshops hosted by Nashville Improv Company, including a long-form weekend with Dave Razowsky.
The big news here is I’m pregnant yet again! My last activity before taking my second maternity leave was to co-teach a workshop with some of my Nashville Improv castmates on how improv can help the actor. We were part of Nashville’s Actor Com and we had a blast! The attendees seems to enjoy the material covered and exercises presented. I hope we get the opportunity to do it again next year!
From here however, barring voiceovers, table reads, or someone needing a pregnant lady for something, I’m on leave until probably March 2017, depending on how breastfeeding goes with this second baby. Being a mom has to be number one priority right now. I plan on using my rare extra moments (that I don’t need for eating or sleeping!) on continuing education by reading books on technique and history of the industry, watching some of the new projects out there (I feel so behind in current film and TV!), and hopefully getting the opportunity to get out and see the live theatre being produced in Nashville.
Rest assured I will be chomping at the bit to get back to performing and auditioning come next year!!
